When classes flip closed to the school calendar, students and teachers both want to do something during the whole summer vacation—a little escapade to cool waters or a trip to somewhere new. Beaches, resorts, and vacation houses are full of agendas, entertaining everyone's wants to relax, relive, and reflect. Well, we—as the busiest of the busy students—fall in line with those outdoor plans, making moments that are new to our eyesight and eating foods new to our taste buds.

In this blog, I will share everything that happened during our first of the first outings last time with the staff of the school publication. And in the next future blogs, I promise (because I'm excited) to share everything that will happen in our second outing this month (outing plans still in the works).

So, have a read and learn about this beloved resort.

THE JOURNEY AND THE EXPERIENCE

Waking up with uncontrollable excitement, I immediately prepared my essentials for the outdoor activities we would have for the whole day as part of our outing experiences. We all love doing things that are beyond our confidence, so we availed a team-building package that included maze running, wall climbing, zipline ride, and rappelling. To tell you honestly, none of us had experience with these things, so the excitement was mixed with nervousness.

When my business in the house was done, I contacted the store where I ordered puso (a traditional rice in the Philippines wrapped with coconut or palm leaves and boiled inside of it). I picked it up from the store, which was just a ten-minute ride from home, checked everything I ordered and paid. Each rice is priced 6 pesos (0.11 USD).

I waited for the service van on the highway after I bought packed ice cubes at a 7/11 store beside a burger stall I always love to go to. My co-staff were in the same van, and since they live in the same place near the school, they were gathered in one location while I was just picked up on the highway near my area.

After twenty minutes, they appeared in front of the 7/11 store just when I was going out. It took 30 minutes to arrive at the resort, but I didn’t count the minutes spent driving through the narrow road that led to the place.

When you enter the resort, a garden or a landscape of plants greets you in the most exciting way. The resort, just like the one in Masbate (scan previous blogs), preserved the tallest parts of nature, and it added to the relaxing view of the whole resort when seen from a bird’s eye view. We headed to the main counter to pay for our stay and accommodation, but we did not get a room since we were only staying for the daytime. For the record, each of us paid at least 750.00 pesos (around $13), which included all the facilities we used for the whole day. It was actually a good and low price for a 3-star resort, and how much we enjoyed it exceeded the cost.

When the other foods arrived, we then prepared the rest of the foods, snacks, and beverages. Among the dishes, I really loved eating the lechon belly, grilled scallops, and chicken wings (with four complete flavors, of which I found the barbecue the most delicious). We also had a box of snacks and a container of drinks, so it was a plentiful table, and when the day ended, we just brought the rest home.

Before eating our first meal, we headed to the team-building facilities of the resort. I really liked the area around it because it is covered with trees and cute bushes. Our first activity was a new one for me because I had never tried wall climbing—aside from climbing trees in our backyard and getting injured. For this activity, we wore safety gear and relaxed for a moment because the scary part wasn’t climbing and holding our grip, but being lowered to the floor once you reach the top. Everybody enjoyed it, and it was the best of all the activities we did.

Our next stop was the zipline ride, which actually freaked us out while riding, but safety was always ensured because the staff of the resort are trained and expert individuals from Traverse Outdoor. From above, you can almost see the whole resort, including the roads and outside houses. After the zipline, we did rappelling and maze running, but I was not able to take pictures during those activities because the fun was so extreme I didn’t want to miss it. If you consider visiting this resort, you have to try maze running and rappelling to add to the funniest moments you’ll make.

Our last stop was the spiderweb, which I found fun, although I didn’t join them as I felt drained. The resort designed a package for five people, but they can adjust and meet your needs according to the group size and availability. I suggest visitors avail of these adventurous activities and meet the funny and witty staff who make the moment more fun.

In addition, the resort also accepts or offers events such as weddings or birthday celebrations, island hopping, diving tours, and a palatable feast of grand and delicious foods.

After the amenities, we visited other areas such as the cabin named Cena En La Playa and museum. Then we immediately headed to our table located beside a blue pool and ate. Everybody was so hungry from the activity that we could eat a horse. Afterward, we had a karaoke session, chit-chats, basketball games, and dipped ourselves in the pool. We spent the rest of the day in the pool and continued our conversations about our organization and funny gibberish.

The pool has two curved slides pointing into adult and kids’ pools—ideal for safety and recreation. It also has a gaming area beside it and a playground. But to be honest, the beach is less attractive, and I found it disappointing because I thought they didn’t maintain it, which should have been the center attraction of the resort. But everything else was so good and well-maintained.

Without tracking the time, we were shocked when we found out the food on the table was missing—and saw the dogs eating the whole lechon. So, the rest of the side dishes were just brought home by my co-staff. We actually spent the remaining time dipping in the coolness of the pool and then prepared for our checkout. We checked out at exactly 5 P.M. to arrive home before it got dark. I was dropped off at the same highway where they picked me up, and the rest of the day was spent sleeping in my bed—tired, happy, and reminiscing.

It was a memorable outing, considering that it was the last time we’d see the graduating staff of our organization, so it also served as a farewell party. When we picked the resort, we were very hesitant, but when we found ourselves smiling inside different amenities, we just hoped for another chance to do it again and again.

So, that would be everything that I can share, my dearest readers. If some of you plan to book a resort in San Remigio, Cebu, Philippines, then consider this kind of resort. Just don’t forget to be happy and count each moment as a memorable one for a good experience. Thank you for reading, and I hope to see you in my next blogs!
