Today was an event at Sofia's school! The day of the square dance that wasn't a square dance. I didn't really understand that, because usually in June there are the famous country dances and traditions, but for some reason I don't know, this year it wasn't quite like that. They said that today there would only be some games, typical foods, raffles for some toys, things like that, a different school day.
If anyone wanted to go in traditional June clothes, that was fine, so I made sure to find a way to buy a dress for Sofia and so she went to school to have fun. I keep thinking, I hope this isn't a new routine, that the traditions of June festivals continue and that we can still see our children dancing and having fun at the celebrations.
I've always loved June festivals, when I was in school and up until high school, I always danced, after college I didn't have the opportunity anymore... gosh, how I miss it, what a great time! Therefore, I cannot let the tradition die out and I have to encourage my children to go to these events whenever possible. Much more than just having fun, it is about enjoying the good part of Brazilian culture that we still have left!
Hoje foi dia de evento na escola da Sofia! O dia da quadrilha que não foi quadrilha. Essa nem entendi muito bem, porque geralmente no mês de junho costuma ter as famosas danças e tradições caipiras, mas por algum motivo que não sei bem, esse ano não foi bem assim. Falaram que hoje haveria somente algumas brincadeiras, comidas típicas, sorteios de alguns brinquedos, coisas do tipo, um dia letivo diferente.
Quem quisesse ir com as tradicionais roupas juninas, tudo bem, então fiz questão de dar um jeito de comprar o vestido para a Sofia e assim ela foi para a escola para se divertir. Fico pensando, espero que isso não seja uma nova rotina, que as tradições das festas juninas continuem e que ainda possamos ver nossos filhos dançando e se divertindo nas comemorações.
Eu sempre amei festa junina, na época da escola e até o ensino médio, sempre dancei, a partir da faculdade já não tive mais a oportunidade… caramba, que saudades, que época boa! Por isso, não posso deixar a tradição falecer e tenho que incentivar meus filhos sempre que possível a irem nestes eventos. Muito mais que diversão, é aproveitar a parte boa da cultura do Brasil que ainda nos resta!
