The last time I had sweet potato was just weeks ago. Mama bought the usual purple sweet potato, it has purple skin and yellowish flesh inside. And I think it was last year when we bought a sweet potato with white skin and a little darker yellow flesh inside. Then just the other day, Mama bought another sweet potato as a snack and it has white skin but purple flesh. Like, it's amazing how sweet potato turns into different colors. I'm not really sure if each varieties has it's own name but for us here, we call it with one name no matter what the color is, it's Kamote or Sweet Potato.

There it is, Mama told me that she got it for 30 pesos per kilo. Usually the prices ranges from 40 to 60, it's worst before because it ranges from 70 to 80. Glad they are cheaper now. Anyways, according to Mama, there's someone who already bought the whole thing, like they bought it in a bulk or "Pinakyaw." Mama was just able to get 1 kilo of it as she beg to the seller. Our guess was, they bought them all to resell it. If ever they sell it for 40 or 50, they'll really get a lot if profit. And their Sweet Potato is also in a great quality.

There it is, look how pretty the color is. But what i'm looking for a Kamote is if it has it's natural sweetness in it. There are some that is bland or something like "matabang." If the Kamote is like that, bo choice but to cook it with sugar, but cooking is a hassle. It's be amazing to just boiled it thought I like Kamote Cue, but the boiled one hit differently. But luckily, this one is sweet. There's no need to cook it in a sugar. It got sweetest as we listen to Mama's radio, currently playing: Buko by Jireh Lim. It's actually been a long time since I last heard that song. Lol. It brings a lot of memories during highschool days. Gosh, Boiled Kamote while reminiscing the good old days is such a beautidul combination!

This is what it looks inside, pretty dark purple. I shared to Mama about my thought about, saying how dweet it is and that we can actually make an Ube Jam using this. We'll just add more food color to make it darker. She said it's okay, but it'd be different. Well, using a Purple Yam for Ube Jam is really good, I haven't tried the one with Purple Sweet Potato. But I heard some people use it to make Ube Jam.

Gosh, seeing this made me crave for Ensaymada with Ube fillings. Too bad the bakery where we buy it is located in Pinamalayan. It's really not right to just travel there to just buy it no? Lol. Thought I can make a reason to go visit there ( ꈍᴗꈍ). Tomorrow's Pinamalayan fiesta, and Mama really wants to go visit there tomorrow. But sadly, we can't really just travel there for that even if we want to. Especially now that I bought a phone and pay some for my debt (≧▽≦). But anyways, Kamote kayo diyannnnn!
