Hello Hivers! It's me again your @rufajane. As promised, I will be publishing the part 2 of my Year 2024. And this is it! So without further ado, let's start....
April 5, 2024 - Career Guidance Culmination Day
This day was so much fun and honestly something I’ll never forget. This is the time when we had our Career Guidance Culmination, and I decided to dress up as a teacher because I’ve always looked up to my mother who is a teacher and I think being one would be such a cool and meaningful job. Wearing that outfit made me feel a little more grown-up actually, like I was already stepping into that future version of myself. I forget to include this in the Part 1 hehe. So what made the day even more exciting (oh how I miss this day 😅) was that I was chosen as the Challenge Acceptor.
That meant I had to go up on stage and deliver a speech in front of everyone. And since I am fond of public speaking, I don't really mind the audience. I don't even felt nervous at that time. Once I started talking, I feel empowered. I wanted to also be a public speaker someday (I badly wanted to 🙂). I spoke clearly and from the heart, and by the time I finished, I felt so proud. People clapped and smiled, and that made me feel like all the efforts on making my script were totally worth it. It was one of those moments where I proved to myself that I can step up when needed.
“Only the prepared speaker deserves to be confident” – Dale Carnegie.
May 31, 2024 - Moving Up Ceremony
This was a big day for me. We had our Moving Up Ceremony, and even though I was feeling a little emotional, I was mostly excited and proud. The school year was finally coming to an end, and all the hard work we put in had led to this moment. I also forget to include this in the Part 1.
I felt really honored because I was chosen to deliver the Pledge of Loyalty. It was a big responsibility and opportunity as well, and I wanted to do my best. As I stood there in front of my classmates, teachers, and parents, I took a deep breath and spoke from the heart. I meant every word I said. It wasn’t just a speech for me it felt like a promise to keep working hard and to never forget everything we’ve learned along the way. I’ll always remember that moment because it made me realize how much I’ve grown not just in school, but as a person too.
Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.- Albert Einstein
This quote really makes sense when I think about my Moving Up Ceremony. Just like riding a bike, life doesn’t stop. You can’t just stay still forever, or you’ll lose your balance. That’s kind of what moving up is all about it’s not the end, it’s a reminder to keep going.
During the ceremony, I felt proud of everything I’ve done, but I also knew it was time to move forward. I can’t stay in the same grade or same stage forever. Even if it gets harder or a little scary, I have to keep learning, growing, and pushing myself just like riding a bike. That’s how we grow stronger and find our way.
So, to me, this quote is a reminder that as long as I keep moving, I’ll stay balanced and that’s how I’ll reach my goals.
August 8, 2024 - Gen Bio 1 Performance
As a STEM student, we are always expose to experiment. This day was really interesting, especially if you’re into science. In our General Biology class, we got to use a microscope for the first time. At first, I didn’t think it would be that exciting but when I actually looked through it, I was amazed! We intended it as a fun haha.
We placed slides on the stage of the microscope and adjusted the lens slowly, and when I finally got it to focus… wow. I could see tiny details that I never even knew were there. It was like a hidden information. We also use ant for fun hahah but we did not kill it because we pity it. It made me think about how many things we don’t notice in everyday life, just because they’re too small to see. That moment made me curious about everything around me. It felt like science came to life, and I was seeing it for real not just in a book or video.
October 20, 2024 - Buwan Ng Wika Film
This day was also memorable but tiring day. It was our first filming day for Buwan ng Wika, and it felt like we were working on a real movie set. We had scripts, costumes, props. Everyone had their own roles, and we were all trying to stay in character while also having fun behind the scenes.
Even though we messed up a few takes and had to restart some scenes, it was still super exciting. I had never done something like that before, so the whole experience felt new and cool. Seeing my classmates act and work together made me feel proud of how creative and hardworking we all are. It wasn’t just about performing—it was about teamwork, patience, and doing our best to represent our culture with pride.
📌 To Be Continued…
No camera can capture all of the memories that had happened in your life. But it will always stay in our hearts forever. From standing in front of a crowd to making promises for the future, exploring the tiny details of life in science class, and even acting in front of a camera 2024 has already given me so many memories to keep close to my heart.
But guess what? We're not done yet hehe
📝 Part 3 of "MY YEAR 2024" is coming soon! More memories, more stories, and more lessons to share. I hope your not bored reading guys hehe 🙂
