As a child, my dad would always tell us that there are a lot of people in prison for crimes they didn't commit. And I remember that whenever I heard him say that, I would imagine that those people were probably at the wrong place at the wrong time, probably they were just walking past a place were a crime was recently commited and got arrested by the police because the police over here do tend to arrest first and then ask questions later.
Anyways, I was wrong.
I recently heard a story of a guy who was accused of sexually assaulting someone and got arrested by the police but luckily for him, he had text messages on his phone between he and the lady that had accused him and it turned out the lady had lied about being SA because she wanted the guy to date her but he wasn't really interested, so she had tried to ruin him instead.
Listening to that story made me remember the girl I used to date back in the day who would always take screenshots of our chat whenever I said certain things to her out of anger during an argument.
She would screenshot those things and save it in a special folder that she had created for it.
I remember when I found out and how I quickly I had left her and ended the whole thing because why would you be gathering evidence to use in the future against someone you claim to love.. It's crazy.
This is why we all (male and female) have to be careful because you never truly know someone until you eventually know them. So always make sure to be careful when dealing with people and never trust anyone fully. Because imagine what would have happened to that young man if he was the type who always deleted text messages and didn't have any evidence to proof that she was lying about being raped.
Because that was me back in the day, I always deleted text messages because I didn't see any reason leaving it there and every ones in a while, I would randomly just clear out all of my text because I felt all that load was someone slowing down my phone. Now imagine if that ex had cleared her own chat and then accused me of something. The only evidence she would have would be those screenshots and those would be in her favour.
The world is a dangerous place people and we all just have to be careful and try to protect ourselves first.
