The morning mist felt like a whispered secret. I rode my bike through the fresh drizzle back to Jungfernheide, where the rain from the night before had scrubbed the air clean. The park smelled like a memory, damp, deep and alive. This intense smell after a rainy night is simply great. Down by the island, I paused for a few minutes of breathing, just me and the soft sound of the lake. The swan family was still there, all four cygnets staying close to their mother. I brought them along for you, the little ones close enough to cuddle. I made it home just before the storm cracked open the sky, safe and dry while the world outside roared. The rest of the day stayed gray and wet, but the plants were loving every drop.

Der Morgennebel fühlte sich an wie ein geflüstertes Geheimnis. Ich fuhr mit dem Rad durch den feinen Nieselregen zurück zur Jungfernheide, wo der Regen der Nacht die Luft reingewaschen hatte. Der Park roch wie eine Erinnerung, feucht, tief und lebendig. Einfach grossartig dieser intensive Geruch nach einer regnerischen Nacht. Unten an der Insel blieb ich kurz für Atemübungen stehen, nur ich und das sanfte Plätschern des Sees. Die Schwanenfamilie war noch da, alle vier Küken hielten sich dicht bei ihrer Mutter auf. Ich habe sie euch mitgebracht, die Kleinen so nah, dass man sie hätte knuddeln können. Noch rechtzeitig vor dem Gewitter war ich wieder zuhause, sicher und trocken, während draußen der Himmel tobte. Der Rest des Tages blieb grau und verregnet, doch die Pflanzen freuten sich über jeden Tropfen.
