When I see these plants and flowers in monochrome, I think about being on a planet where the only spectrum is mono. Kind of like the planet in Dune 2, if you've seen it, where everything was in black and white. They all seem a little dangerous and maybe are the type of plants that would eat people if they were so inclined.
Lots of points and spikes, spiral patterns, the things that nature creates without the need of humans. Still beautiful and interesting in their own ways even as they begin to wither with the changing of the seasons.
