This time, I’ve created a fan art of Xolo from the @holozing universe, drawn in a chibi anime style.
Xolo is an incredibly charming character — a playful black feline with expressive golden eyes that gleam with curiosity and joy. His small, round body gives off a warm and mischievous vibe, and he always seems ready for adventure. The bright golden details on his paws and stomach, as well as the blue accents on his ears, tail, and paws, add a magical contrast to his dark fur. The most captivating part for me was the golden diamond on his forehead — a signature detail that makes Xolo feel both mystical and unique. Working on this illustration was a joyful journey into the whimsical world of @holozing, and I’m so happy to be able to share it with the community!

En esta ocasión, he realizado un fan art de Xolo, uno de los personajes del universo de @holozing, ilustrado al estilo anime chibi.
Xolo es un personaje increíblemente encantador: un felino negro juguetón con ojos dorados expresivos que brillan con curiosidad y alegría. Su cuerpo pequeño y redondeado transmite una energía cálida y traviesa, siempre parece estar listo para una nueva aventura. Los detalles dorados en sus patas y vientre, así como los acentos azules en orejas, cola y patas, aportan un contraste mágico con su pelaje oscuro. Lo que más me cautivó fue el diamante dorado en su frente, un detalle característico que le da un aire místico y único. Trabajar en esta ilustración fue una experiencia maravillosa dentro del mundo fantástico de @holozing, ¡y me alegra mucho poder compartirla con la comunidad!
In this chibi version, I wanted to exaggerate Xolo’s cutest features. His big, rounded ears with soft blue tips stand out, and his eyes are wide and filled with wonder. I kept his color palette faithful to the original but gave it a slightly warmer tone to match the sunny, dreamy atmosphere of the background.
He’s shown holding a bright, shiny ball, which reflects his playful nature. His tiny paws are colored in soft blue, contrasting beautifully with his dark fur. The golden belly patch adds a warm touch that makes him look even cuddlier. Xolo’s tail is long and slightly curved with a golden tip — another detail that makes him instantly recognizable. The diamond on his forehead gleams like a gem, giving him a mystical aura even in his chibi form.
En esta versión chibi, quise exagerar las características más adorables de Xolo. Sus grandes orejas redondeadas con puntas azules suaves resaltan con fuerza, y sus ojos están abiertos de par en par, llenos de asombro. Mantuve su paleta de colores fiel al original, pero le di un tono ligeramente más cálido para que combinara con la atmósfera soleada y onírica del fondo.
Lo representé sosteniendo una pelota brillante y colorida, que refleja su naturaleza juguetona. Sus patitas pequeñas tienen un tono azul suave que contrasta muy bien con su pelaje oscuro. La mancha dorada en su barriga añade un toque acogedor que lo hace aún más tierno. Su cola es larga, ligeramente curvada, con una punta dorada que lo hace reconocible al instante. El diamante en su frente brilla como una joya, dándole un aura mística incluso en su forma chibi.
Process / Proceso
Every digital drawing begins with a sketch, and this one was no exception. I started with a loose, expressive draft to capture Xolo’s joyful personality. I paid extra attention to proportion and pose, making sure the chibi form retained that cute, energetic charm. Once I was happy with the structure, I moved on to refining the lines.
The lineart stage was all about clarity and flow. I used smooth, rounded strokes to give a soft, animated look. The ears, tail, and facial expression were especially important to keep the spirit of Xolo alive — playful, a bit mysterious, and full of heart.
Coloring is always one of my favorite parts. For this piece, I chose vibrant tones that still harmonize with Xolo’s original design. The dark shades of his fur contrast gently with the golden and blue highlights, creating a sense of magic and joy. I wanted his fur to feel rich and velvety, and the colors to pop with personality.
Then came the shadows. I applied soft, rounded shadows to add volume and depth while keeping the cute aesthetic. Light direction was key — I imagined a warm afternoon sun to enhance the fantasy-like atmosphere and make Xolo feel alive in his environment.
Highlights brought everything to life. I added sparkles in the eyes, soft reflections on the ball, and glows around the golden details. This step gave the illustration a dynamic, dreamy touch — almost like Xolo could jump out of the screen.
Finally, I created the background. I chose a bright, grassy field bathed in golden light, dotted with soft glowing orbs. It feels like a magical summer afternoon — the perfect setting for a cheerful character like Xolo. It also helped frame the entire composition with warmth and positivity.
Cada dibujo digital comienza con un boceto, y este no fue la excepción. Empecé con un trazo suelto y expresivo para capturar la personalidad alegre de Xolo. Presté especial atención a la proporción y la pose, asegurándome de que la forma chibi conservara ese encanto tierno y enérgico. Una vez que estuve satisfecha con la estructura, pasé a refinar las líneas.
La etapa del delineado se enfocó en la claridad y el flujo. Usé trazos suaves y redondeados para darle un aspecto animado y delicado. Las orejas, la cola y la expresión facial fueron claves para mantener el espíritu de Xolo — juguetón, un poco misterioso y lleno de vida.
Colorear siempre es una de mis partes favoritas. Para esta pieza elegí tonos vibrantes que armonizaran con el diseño original de Xolo. Los tonos oscuros de su pelaje contrastan suavemente con los detalles dorados y azules, creando una sensación mágica y alegre. Quise que su pelaje se sintiera rico, aterciopelado, y que los colores resaltaran con personalidad.
Luego apliqué las sombras. Usé sombras suaves y redondeadas para dar volumen y profundidad sin perder el estilo adorable. La dirección de la luz fue clave — imaginé un sol cálido de tarde para reforzar la atmósfera fantástica y hacer que Xolo se sintiera vivo en su entorno.
Los brillos le dieron vida a todo. Añadí destellos en los ojos, reflejos suaves en la pelota y un resplandor alrededor de los detalles dorados. Este paso aportó un toque dinámico y de ensueño — casi como si Xolo pudiera saltar fuera de la pantalla.
Finalmente, creé el fondo. Elegí un campo brillante cubierto de césped, bañado en luz dorada, salpicado de orbes luminosos. Se siente como una tarde mágica de verano — el escenario perfecto para un personaje tan alegre como Xolo. También ayudó a enmarcar la composición con calidez y positividad.
Creating this piece was an absolute joy. It allowed me to blend my love for fantasy and cute aesthetics while celebrating a character I truly admire. Sharing it with the @holozing community makes it even more special. Xolo's charm really shines when reimagined in this chibi style, and I hope this artwork brings a smile to your face just as it did for me while drawing it.
