It's actually good to be back to making fanart for the Holozing game, I have some ideas in my sketchbook and I'll try to paint them while coming up with new ideas. For this character, my goal was to capture a soft and gentle expression with subtle green eyes which symbolizes her connection with the forest. I went with a low styled bun for hair with some large strands falling down her face, my biggest and favorite part of this painting is her outfit, It's a flower-themed top with a transparent layer on top, I can't really explain it but I just played around with the idea and it looks really nice.
I worked on her facial features and gave her big green eyes, I didn't forget earrings this time even though I kept it simple. The transparent top is held together by a flower, a design I took from the original character, it also has a drop down glowing gem similar for the one around her headpiece. Overall, I really had fun creating this character and she turned out pretty good, hope you love this idea....
PROCESS
First phase of the sketch, picking and painting base colors for her skin, hair and clothes, this is usually the foundation, the most important part that defines how the final image looks.
The second phase is for rendering. This is where the whole painting comes to life, adding shadows and highlights to her skin, painting more volume and strands to her hair, detailing the clothes and ornaments, also finally adding finishing touches and lighting where necessary...
