There is no such thing as perfection, I see perfection as a myth because the only one capable of attaining it is God the creator. Every living thing is born with the two sides of a coin and trying to change that would be trying to call God, the universe, and everything that has been created stupid. One of the greatest artists that has ever existed decided to experiment himself by changing his biological composition and turning himself from black to white, he did so in a bid to chase perfection but I guess by the time he was done with the whole change he could not live to tell the story. For all the times man has tried to cheat nature there has always been a backlash, and man tends to suffer that backlash the most. Today we see people not liking their gender and decide to change it which by the way costs a lot and requires a lot of maintenance and when they can't maintain it, it becomes disastrous.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people would jump at the idea of creating a perfect baby, the idea seems intriguing even to me and I must admit it would be nice to have what I think will be the perfect baby. But the question is, do I know what perfection is? When it comes to the issue with perfection, even our inabilities have a reason and the reason we struggle sometimes is because we are not where we can excel. No matter how strong the lion is, it's useless in water and so is the fish on land. If one decides to create the perfect fish giving it a nose instead of fins you would be killing that fish because in your bid for perfection you miscalculated that the fish would need to live in water. This is the defect of man's creations. There's always a miscalculation, nothing is ever 100%, there's always a chance something can go wrong and always a chance of uncertainty.

This is why I would not want to create the perfect baby because the chances of making that baby worse than what I could ever imagine is very high. I might choose to give the baby the perfect child-like eyes which might not be so fine when they grow up, I might give the baby genes that would kill them before they turn 25, the genes I could give could be so nice but easily prone to cancer or diseases unheard of. I can't begin to imagine and count all the things that could possibly go wrong because there are a lot of them and a lot of people would make terrible mistakes trying to fix what was never broken. Imagine trying to give a boy child the perfect voice only for it to come out like a girl's voice which would ruin that child's childhood because his mates would mock him for having a girl's voice.

Instead of trying to create the perfect baby, I would prefer embracing the gift of imperfection but excellence. We are not the same in any way, not even twins, but we can all achieve greatness if we choose to. This is the gift of imperfection. Our limitations are not there to put us down, but to help us find our strengths and focus on them. Some might decide to remove some character traits from a child thinking they are helping that child, but they might also have removed a coping mechanism that would have helped that child in future. Nature is good, and nature is sweet, let's not try to change it but instead embrace it because therein lies our beauty.
