Chaos Animator - Splinterlands Art Contest Week (@jasonmyers13)

Welcome everyone! I hope you're all well. The weekly art contest started two days ago, and I wanted to participate by creating a digital drawing. I really liked the character's eyes, especially because I knew how to use the Blend tool for that part. I was inspired by a common card in Death Splinter called Chaos Animator. Below, I'll share the story behind this card:

Bienvenidos a todos, espero se encuentren bien. Hace dos dias empezo el concurso de arte semanal y me quise sumar realizando un dibujo digital que me gusto mucho en especial los ojos del personaje y porque supe usar la herramienta Blend en esa parte. Me inspiré en una carta comun del Splinter de Muerte llamada Chaos Animator. A continuación, les presento la historia de esta carta:

"When it comes to transmutation, Tenni Mayla is something of a prodigy. Using nothing but a bit of magic and a wrench, she can build and animate mighty golems capable of great heaps of destruction.

Tenni was rather fond of the tyranny and oppression that the Chaos Empire brought when it conquered the Splinterlands but figured she'd much rather be on the giving than receiving end. Now, she uses her arcane craftsmanship in service to the empire, whether it be crushing revolts or stomping out insurgents—often quite literally."

"En lo que a transmutación se refiere, Tenni Mayla es todo un prodigio. Con solo un poco de magia y una llave inglesa, puede construir y animar poderosos gólems capaces de causar una gran destrucción.

Tenni sentía un gran aprecio por la tiranía y la opresión que el Imperio del Caos impuso al conquistar las Tierras Astilladas, pero pensó que prefería dar que recibir. Ahora, usa su arcana artesanía al servicio del imperio, ya sea aplastando revueltas o aplastando insurgentes, a menudo literalmente."

To create this illustration, I started by looking for a reference I liked to then capture the idea I had in mind for the post's protagonist. After reviewing several images, I found a reference that met the essential characteristics I needed, loosely inspired by the card's history. I managed to complete the project in approximately 8 hours. Below are several progress images.

Para elaboracion de esta ilustracion, inicie buscando una referencia que me gustara para luego plasmar la idea que tenía en mente sobre el protagonista del post. Despues de varias imagenes encontre una referencia que cumplía con las características esenciales que necesitaba, inspirándome ligeramente en la historia de la carta. Logré completar el trabajo en un tiempo aproximado de 8 horas. A continuación, les presento varias imágenes del progreso.

Process

I began the process with a sketch, drawing several guidelines that helped me define the exact proportions I wanted to achieve. Once this initial phase was complete, I moved on to applying the character's skin color and continuing with the details of the shadows and highlights.

Inicié el proceso con un boceto, trazando varias líneas guía que me ayudaron a definir las proporciones exactas que quería lograr. Una vez completada esta fase inicial, pasé a aplicar el color de piel al personaje y seguir con los detalles de sombras y luces al personaje.
