Hey guys, I'm back again with yet another amazing review of the Vibes Web3 Music Competition. We've come a really long way, as it's the 35th week since the inception of the creative concept that brought Vibes to existence.
As usual, I'm here to share certain videos with you, just in case you missed out on them in the course of watching various entries.
Firstly, @verbal-d
This guy kills me every damn time. He's got the quality I admire—or rather, we admire—in every great singer:
-
Beautiful lyrical composition
I know this is an attribute we're all familiar with, and if you haven't noticed it yet, then you probably have something wrong with your eardrums. They are inspiring, motivating, well-structured, not ambiguous, and really relatable. -
Amazing flow
He goes with the beat—no break, no interruptions. His rap is just effortless, like he was born for this. -
Fluidity
His ability to navigate through different genres of music—be it rap or soulful singing—without struggling is top-notch. I'm looking forward to a reggae composition, by the way 😁 -
Mastery of the game
He's someone that has been in the music art for a long while, not necessarily because he's a judge, but because of the musical skills which are quite evident for all to see. He isn't a newbie and prolly has this innate singing talent in him. Not your regular type of Black American rappers who come on TV saying whatever they want, not realizing good lyrics and other aspects of music are paramount in production.
Well, it's all about marketing and cash generation for them. Probably the reason I don't listen to rap on mainstream media except NF, and Eminem, and of course, Verbal D 😉.
Well, @meyateingi came up with a mind-blowing entrance that I really enjoyed:
Singing a cover of Anne-Marie's song is a hell of a ride. It requires mastery of one's voice, else you'd end up messing yourself up—something that was quite displayed here.
I also loved the background, the microphone, and the lighting. A good video quality, I must say. She also added her own spin at some certain sections of the cover, which makes it interesting to watch. Go girl!!
Can't wait to have the top 6 and, of course, the winners. See you guys next week!!
