Greetings, world travelers! Welcome back to my blog. This time, I invite you to visit Medina Beach, one of the jewels of eastern Venezuela, located in the beautiful state of Sucre. Join me on this adventure.
I love the beach; it's definitely my favorite place to be. Visiting this natural paradise had been on my bucket list for a long time. But this time, the trip had a more special purpose: the pediatricians recommended that I take my baby, who had respiratory difficulties at birth, to enjoy the sea breeze, and so, as a family, we set off for this magical corner of the country.
Arriving at Playa Medina is like feeling that you are at the end of Venezuela, right where the country meets the vast and majestic Caribbean Sea. The view is simply breathtaking. As soon as you step onto the beach, you are greeted by tall, slender, swaying palm trees that move gently to the rhythm of the wind. The green hills that frame the bay complete a perfect, almost unreal postcard. I swear tears came to my eyes when I saw such natural beauty. It is a landscape that inspires peace, contemplation, and gratitude.
The water is calm and crystal clear, perfect for children. There are no rough waves, so we were able to swim and play safely. The golden, loose sand is a delight for the feet, and for the baby it was a sensory experience: he loved it! He rolled around in the sand and splashed happily at the shore. It was wonderful to see him enjoying himself so freely. My daughter didn't want to get out of the water.
We spent the whole day there. We walked, laughed, played, took lots of photos, and let ourselves be embraced by the sun and the breeze. Best of all, despite being a fairly well-known place, it feels authentic, natural, and unspoiled by crowds or excessive construction. It's a place to reconnect with the earth, the sea, and our loved ones.
And like any good Venezuelan trip, a culinary experience was a must. We were lucky enough to try a very typical dish of the region: fried fish with tostones and salad. Absolutely delicious! The fish was fresh, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the tostones were the perfect accompaniment. We ate in front of the sea, under the shade of a bohío, while the children were happy to be in contact with the sand.
Playa Medina has become one of my favorite public places. Not only for its natural beauty, but also for what it meant to us as a family. It was a day of rest, healing, and pure enjoyment. I am deeply grateful to have discovered this corner of eastern Venezuela, and I sincerely hope to return very soon.

Playa Medina: palmeras, arena dorada y risas de mis hijos, justo donde quiero estar
¡Saludos viajeros del mundo! Sean bienvenidos una vez más a mi blog. En esta oportunidad los invito a visitar Playa Medina, una de las joyas del oriente venezolano, ubicada en el hermoso Estado Sucre. Acompáñenme en este recorrido de aventura.
Me encanta la playa, sin duda es el sitio donde me gusta estar. Desde hace tiempo tenía en mi lista de deseos visitar este paraíso natural. Pero esta vez, el viaje tenía un propósito más especial: los pediatras me recomendaron llevar a mi bebé, quien tuvo dificultades respiratorias al nacer, para que disfrutara de la brisa marina. Y así fue como, en familia, emprendimos el rumbo hacia este rincón mágico del país.
Llegar a Playa Medina es sentir que uno está al final de Venezuela, justo donde el país se encuentra con el vasto y majestuoso Mar Caribe. La vista es sencillamente impresionante. Apenas pisas la playa, te reciben unas palmeras altas, delgadas y ondeantes, que se mueven suavemente al ritmo del viento. Los cerros verdes que enmarcan la bahía completan una postal perfecta, casi irreal, les juro que brotaron lágrimas de mis ojos al ver tanta belleza natural. Es un paisaje que inspira paz, recogimiento y mucha gratitud.
El agua es tranquila y cristalina, perfecta para los niños. No hay olas agresivas, por lo que pudimos nadar y jugar con seguridad. La arena dorada y suelta es un deleite para los pies, y para el bebé fue toda una experiencia sensorial: ¡le encantó! Se revolcó en la arena y chapoteó felizmente en la orilla. Fue maravilloso verlo disfrutar con tanta libertad. Mientras que mi hija no quería salir del agua.
Pasamos todo el día allí. Caminamos, reímos, jugamos, tomamos muchas fotos y nos dejamos abrazar por el sol y la brisa. Lo mejor de todo es que, a pesar de ser un lugar bastante conocido, se siente auténtico, natural y no invadido por multitudes ni construcciones desmedidas. Es un sitio para reconectar con la tierra, con el mar y con los nuestros.
Y como todo buen viaje venezolano, no podía faltar una experiencia culinaria. Tuvimos la dicha de probar un plato muy típico de la región: pescado frito con tostones y ensalada. ¡Una delicia total! El pescado estaba fresco, crujiente por fuera y suave por dentro, y los tostones fueron el complemento perfecto. Comimos frente al mar, bajo la sombra de un bohío, mientras los niños seguían felices por estar en contacto con la arena.
Playa Medina se ha convertido en uno de mis lugares públicos favoritos. No solo por su belleza natural, sino por lo que significó para nosotros como familia. Fue un día de descanso, de sanación y de disfrute puro. Me siento profundamente agradecida de haber conocido este rincón del oriente venezolano, y sinceramente espero poder volver muy pronto.
Si buscan un lugar para desconectarse del bullicio, respirar aire limpio, y vivir un día familiar inolvidable, no duden en visitar Playa Medina. Venezuela guarda en su geografía verdaderos tesoros, y este es, sin duda, uno de ellos.
