The orange-red flamboyant flowers were blooming when I took these photos in May. At that time, I watched with fascination a heavy jumper crawling nimbly and sometimes jumping like a primate among the stems. Perhaps it was hunting for prey there. But it had to wait patiently for the pollinators to appear and then ambush one of them. The ones it was waiting for seemed to have not yet appeared. Perhaps they already knew that there was a real danger threatening their lives on the flamboyant plant...and the heavy jumper did not give up so easily.
This is another entry I submitted for the daily #monomad challenge.
