While this is a side-project for us at this point in time as we are focused on getting our flagship game launched as soon as possible, we'd like to let the amazing fanart community on Hive know about a few things!

While this offer is retrospective, i.e. we may go back and check out fanart submissions in the past and ask to purchase your pieces and/or ask to edit them slightly to fit our side-project, we figured it'd be best to let you know that we'll be on the lookout for our physical collection set! I wrote a post about this earlier this week so check that out if you want to know more info.

Basically, we'll be working on a physical and digital collection set for Holozing creatures and healers and a combination of them all. Thus we are welcoming you to participate and if you're interested align your future fanart to fit with the scope of this set. I.e. if you're going to make fanart either way, you may be interested in slightly changing the way you go about it so that the artwork could potentially be used and purchased by us to be used in our collection set!

The term collection set means that it won't be a playable trading card board-game, merely for collectors. There are however borders already available that you could align your artwork towards. Here's a couple examples of how the cards might look like:

We'll be working with a lot of different frames for the collection cards, above you can see the "diamond" version of the "full art" cards and on the right the "water" version of the creature cards which will come with our rarity odds for each creature.

There'll be borders in all 4 starter types of the alpha design and additional borders in different types for craftable designs and beta designs as well. Here's a few more alpha ones for Electric and Fire type creatures:

What can you do to best prepare for this?

We will over time as we get closer to focusing on this aspect of our ecosystem reach out to you to work with you directly if we think you're a good fit. However you could prepare by working on different ideas and versions of creatures and healers and combinations you think could fit well in the collection set. This could be anything from creatures being out in the wild in their natural habitats based on their type, to doing various things like being with other creatures and doing various "animal-related activities" but also so far as artworks of them being midfight, etc. You can't really go wrong with being creative although of course keep things as PG13 as you can to be eligible for a potential inclusion in our set.

Other things to keep in mind are that the artwork style, creature and healer anatomies, shapes, sizes and details can't differ too much from the ones we have announced over time on the @holozing account. While I know that some of you enjoy going wild and creating your own versions of "life-like" Holozing creatures or "if this creature was a human-shaped healer" or simply different variations completely, this isn't something we'll be looking for for this set. You'd have to adjust the way you present them to fit in the project. However, this doesn't mean you'd have to change your style completely, finer details and the way you originally draw them can be fine as long as the original composure of the characters remains intact.

Keep in mind that plagiarism, AI help and other such tools that lower effort won't be valid.

Apart from purchasing your artworks we will also offer the artists signatures to be included in the collection set, this means that whether physical or digital, you're signature or preferred name (hive username or other) in text will be included in each print.

Collaborations between artists are also welcomed, you could also post about them and send beneficiaries out to all parties involved in a fair manner - please do not repost the same artwork from all involved accounts in unique posts, however.

If you're creating artwork solely aimed towards the collection set, please use the hashtag "collection" in the posts!

We may also offer royalties for digital card sales as those will be easy to calculate and distribute in the form of cryptocurrencies to the artists based on sales. More info on this later.

Either way, if you have questions, feel free to ask here in the comment section and if they are a bit more complex I'll ask the art direction team to chip in.
